I’ve long been a fan of educational tv. Shows like the West Wing, Location Location Location and of course the News (if you can count that as tv). I think a lot can be said for discussing an episode and applying the concepts to real life. I am trying to figure out the best tv shows that provide an educational insight into a particular topic. Here is my list so far….
- West Wing- Economics
- Location Location Location- Buying and selling a home, negotiating etc.
- Dragons Den- Business and investment
- News- current events, politics
- Questions and Answers- politics
- Brainiac- Science & Technology
- Judge Judy- Law
Some of these may be stretching a bit but I firmly believe you could watch an episode of one of these and discuss the issues raised to make an interesting class. It would certainly make for an easier homework assignment. More suggestions welcome!
